2008 Arkansas Travelers - The worst baseball team ever to win a league championship?
Thank you to two half-season standings in the League of Texas, the Arkansas Travelers made the playoffs by winning the North Divsion first half with mediocre 36-34 record. They then went 26-44 in the second half of a combined 62-78 record this season. They defeated NW Arkansas in the division series and Frisco, Texas in the series Championship League to win the championship. Is there a team with a winning percentage worse in the regular season to win a championship in professional baseball?
It's stupid that they have won. I saw them in Game 4 of the AL championship series. I would however say that their management was good. The reason for the drop off at the second half due to subsequent orders. So, no their not the worst team to win a championship, they do their work. But as a Rider's fan I'm angry, disappointed, and alone.
