Should I stain this pew or strip the old stain and stain again?
I bought a wonderful bench 4 'former church in a sale. It needs new spots as well as the stain has been "altered", apparently. It has never been painted or anything. I have never repaired anything in my life if necessary help and advice, please. First, what products do you offer? ... And which method do I use? Do I strip the stain is already on the bench? Or is it not necessary and I just need to blot the stain is already on it? Thank you for any information you can give me as I begin this have really put in my driveway. Thank you!
If the stain is worn in spots, spots then it will give you the same places with your topcoat. I also assume the spot was covered with a protective varnish that stains will not penetrate the wood.
For easier results, sand everything until the color appears even and uniform and restain it.
For best results apparently get a stain remover, remove the stain and varnish off the whole thing.
I would highly discourage you to a spot on the bench with no sanding or stripping.
