Embarrassing moment in church for you?
What could be worse than Poot long grinding, tearing, breath against a bank of oak hard (ha! Pew. Get it?) That echoes through the church for prayer and silence seems to last forever?
I actually saw this guy at church, he went to be baptized, and he tripped and went head first into the water, funniest ever!
How is the church supposed to help you get to heaven when it is guilty of four of the seven deadly sins?
I mean it's a serious problem, although I know some may not take it as such. I am a Christian since I was a little girl, but recently I was interviewed by religion. I noticed that the church itself is guilty of four of the seven deadly sins;
Gluttony is not defined as eating an overabundance of food, but engage in an abundance more than anything in the point of waste. This is especially true when others are in need. Drive by any church. These temples, decorated with care in extravagance must have cost a fortune.How many homeless shelters could be financed by money it took to build these cathedrals. How much money could be donated to hospitals and medical research to help children to die?
By the same principle of greed, so they are guilty of greed. Surely the weekly collection plate is passed around is not necessary. Jesus himself said that his temple is not a market. There are other was to pay your tithes. Give time to those who need no money to those who have.
But envy is the third rung on the ladder.
Like greed, envy May is characterized by an insatiable desire, they differ, however, for two main reasons. First, greed is largely associated with material goods, but envy May apply more generally. Secondly, those who commit the sin of envy resentment that another person has something they perceive themselves as lacking, and I hope that the other person may be deprived of it.
"Follow me at First Baptist," said a sticker. "Join us Sunday for fellowship and worship," reads Brands.Churches of advertising to encourage people to come to your church, the preachers stood in the pulpit proclaiming that they are somehow the church is better than another, adding more elaborate signs, more activities to attract the eye of a child. All turning away from God. Soon the only reason people will go to church because they have become the city recreation center, all just to get more people to your church.
And finally, pride.
In almost every list Pride is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which others arise.It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, the excessive love of self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God). Benches upholstered in gold encrusted cross on the oak-finished chairs preached before a proudly wearing a costume hurry preaching to a congregation to wear expensive clothes and jewelry. I need not repeat myself on the immaculate mansion in which the Church was ready.
More than anything I want to spend eternity in God's loving embrace. So that's why I ask, how is the church supposed to help me go to heaven?
Edit: I know our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the only way to get to the Kingdom of Heaven. The church, as in all churches, Christian, Catholic, Baptist .. etc., is where you'll learn the word of God. It's like going to a communist country to learn about democracy. Satan is not invading our church, man.
If you are talking about one of these mega churches, then I agree with you on gluttony.I attend a church that does not have all the frills. but as far as the payment of tithes is recommended to help keep up the church.
If someone advertises on their way to church, I see nothing wrong with that.we try not to take people outside their church, we try to get people who do not attend the church for all to attend.
exactly what "church" are you talking about?
edit: the church will not get you into heaven, only Jesus as your Savior can.
