Do you think buying a lot/land in a major city could be a good real estate investment?

I live in Chicago and have already bought a couple preconstruction condo as an investment. I saw land and land for sale for what seems like a reasonable price in areas that have potential to be up-and-coming "areas. What do you think generally about how how good of a land investment is it? Would you recommend building on it, or wait until the cost of land appreciates a good deal and then flipping it? Do you own or have owned land as an investment in a city? What are some things I should consider in this kind of investment?

Any type of property purchase is usually a good investment.

The only thing on the purchase of land is that if you take how long and when do you sell? Flipping sorta land is slow and for long-term investments

Now, if you buy to build, it is more predictable, and you can plan more.

I like to buy lots when I build multiple units, but not more than 4 because they are considered a single family home, easier to finance and are qualified for both FHA and VA buyers to include conventional loans.

You can keep 1 out of every 3 for tax purposes and the building of wealth.

You can also have a set of plans for your project if you do the same type. If you're going to make more of a type that you need more sets of plans.

I use 4 sets myself. I ave one for one family where the zoning is for single-family one for the duplexes where the zoning is for two units, while I have a 3 and four other units where the zoning is for these type properties.

I have a 560-620 score, my credit is low because I realize I still have not finished paying. I have one year to 14 months before I impact my car, I owe $ 6,500 or less on the land investment of 20 acres in Fabens, TX (it pays since 2000. I am willing to accept offers of cash now.

Go get a job. There are people out there who are worse off than you. Get a life.
