Anyone working at Smith Barney or is a financial planner, can you please help me?
Here's the deal. Out of a potential pool of 15 candidates, I was one of two selected for second stage interview for an internship at Smith Barney. The interview of the second stage is more a "get to know you" type interview, and I was wondering what kind of issues I need to be familiar with to perpetuate a thought stimulating and intellectual conversation.
I worked for Smith Barney 1992-2006. You need to follow their example, but be familiar with current events in society to show that you are really interested in the company.
I also recommend checking the www.learntosucceed.biz. They can make a difference, career advice consistent and they will answer your specific questions.
Good luck.
What happens to my money at Smith Barney if Citi Corp sells the firm?
What will happen to my money at Smith Barney, if Citi Corp. is selling the brokerage firm or someone buys them out? I have cds there that were to expire on December 22.2008. Will I still be able to recover my money so if somthing happens before now and December 22.2008.
The sale of the business do not change their obligations to you. If we keep them, there is the risk that the Group Citi will fail, but after Lehman Brothers, the government will not take the risk of letting down. If it is sold, it will be sold to a bank in a strong position. Anyway you're in a position strong enough.
