What are the California knife laws for Bowie knives?
I have a nice, Winchester Bowie knife, and I was wondering if it would be legal for me to carry unconcealed (it's hard enough to canceal a 7 "knife) in public in Southern California (not LA) . NO, I do not take to school!
Other than laws prohibiting the possession of knives in schools or public buildings, possession of needles, and possession of concealed knives or daggers (which includes almost all fixed-blade knives), there are no laws regulating the possession of knives in California State. Note that a knife carried openly in a holster belt is not hidden.
You should check, however, if there is a local ordinance applies.
