How do you get entry into world series of poker?

We absolutely love playing poker online, how do you get entry to play in the World Series of Poker? Is there somewhere online where you can win an entry or is there a place to play for the winning entry, choose something that is free freeroll or play. I am already on Mansion and FullTilt, but I DONT think there is something there to gain entry to the WSOP, please respond and help, would have enjoyed the experience.

Hard to find this stuff ... nobody seems to mean. 10/14/06
"Harrah's is changing the registration policy for the WSOP as a result of new legislation that was enacted by President Bush yesterday. Here is an excerpt from a letter written by Gary Thompson, director of communications for Harrah's:

"While we're reviewing again for registration requirements, it is likely that we will accept third party registrations from entities such as charities and civic and offline tribal and commercial casinos in the United States and the agent with whom we have licensing agreements to conduct WSOP satellites, as well as entities for which we have sponsorship agreements challenging duration of their customers. We will most likely not accept third-party registrations of others. We will of course continue to accept registrations from individuals. "

What does this mean? Well, for one thing the WSOP will decrease in number for the first time. More than half of this year 8773 players won their seats through online satellites. People will no longer be able to do so. The number of people who bought directly continued to increase and I think that is still the case. With no winners satellite internet, probably the skill level will increase and maybe we'll start to see more benefits to the final table again.

Not all websites will stop offering satellite though. Full Tilt has announced they will provide the winner with the cash value of the WSOP prize package to the winner of their satellites are part of the WSOP.

The time between now and the next WSOP will be a difficult time for the poker industry as the ramifications of this law are realized. It'll be an interesting year. Hopefully the efforts of organizations such as EAC and WTO have managed to get this law reversed."

If you're still unsure, I recommend use of Harrah's and ask them.
Oh .. and good luck ...

Information on the 2006 World Series Of Poker?

I am looking for information about the World Series of Poker 2006. I plan to purchase it and need to know some details. I need to know how much money I'm going to make, which includes money for the buy in, hotel, food, drinks, transportation, etc. I also need to know how I buy, I I walk to the window and say 'here's my money "and get a seat assignment? If this happens, how long before the tournament can I register? How many places pay if the land is 6500 people again? Finally, I heard they are going to cap entries to this year 6500, is there any truth to that? Any information other than what I asked was very helpful. Thank you for answering.
Regarding the experience of the online tournament, I have a lot of it. However, recently I stopped playing online poker because of all the idiots who are now playing with the 72 because he is suited!
I'm not playing for money on the Internet. Well I did. Even in games with real money if you are Thurs 20 miles while people continue to play like idiots, at least to the point that I play.

There are several different tournaments throughout the WSOP. If you plan to purchase the main event, you will need 10,000 just for that. If you plan to play some of turned out differently, then you will need anywhere from 1500-5000 by buyin. Hotels in Las Vegas are cheap as usual and if you mention that you will play the WSOP, some discount offer poker player (or comps.) Drinks are free while you're in the game and are relatively cheap throughout town, except inside the nightclub. The food is also quite affordable in Las Vegas.

As for how you do it, I strongly encourage you to play in a live tournament or two before going to familiarize yourself with the process. In general, you can ride, pay, began a rack of chips and then wait for the missions table. At the WSOP, have so many people they break though. So you may pay on day 1, but not actually start playing until day 4 or something like that.

I have not heard of them on field cap in 6500. In fact, I heard they were expecting about 10,000 players this year.
